Estimation of the profit function of Trans log and the elasticity of input demand in rice farming in Jambi province

This study aims to analyze the development of input and output prices, translog profit function, elasticity demand for lowland rice farming inputs in Jambi Province. The function model used is Transcendental Logarithmic (Translog) function. results show that · prices has increased significantly every year. production factors affect profitability are price seeds, TSP fertilizer, other chemical fertilizers (KML). Other such as urea fertilizer pesticide labor wages, land rental costs determinant factors. value their elastic. All cross-price complementary which influenced by shows a positive elastic value. From study, it expected there will be capital assistance farmers so can allocate optimal use inputs.
